Mt Fuji: Rather awe-inspiring than beautiful

This picture was taken in October, 2018 from Shinkansen bullet train, when I was back from Kyoto on a business trip. What amazed me was that the color of the mountain was different than the one I am familiar with. It is really a mountain, made of rocks and soil. It is rather “awe-inspiring” than beautiful.

In advance, I have checked some Web sites that describes how to better look at Mt. Fuji from the train. They recommend that you get an “E seat”. Fortunately I was able to do it.

One of those sites says that in about 50 minutes after you leave Nagoya station (if you are on Nozomi, the fastest type of the Shinkan-sen, for Tokyo), the mountain starts to appear. So I set an alarm as a reminder. Bingo! Soon after the reminder, the cone shape was emerging.
